Tailoring schools equip and empower women
Many women have very little education, they may have lost their husbands, their husbands may be unemployed or for various reasons they do not bring their wages home to provide for their family. This badly impacts the wives and children.
This solution is working
With training and empowerment, these women can open their own small home-based businesses. They mend and repair clothes and make new clothing. They can take part in local markets to sell their products and repair services.
Our 6-month tailoring schools teach them design, drafting, cutting, sewing, pressings and machine repairs. When each lady successfully completes her course we aim to give them a sewing machine to open their business with.
