Your gift can help in these specific areas
Project needs are often hard to describe and change from time to time. But if you are looking to donate a gift to the work of Heart for Kids without entering into a longer term child sponsorship this list will help you see how a specific gift will help in particular areas.
In the past, China has been a predominant focus of the work in Asia. However, at the moment conditions are very difficult. As the country chases Zero COVID cases, rolling lockdowns re being faced. This means we could visit children in a village and our team may find they can’t get back to their own home areas upon returning from the village because of a sudden lockdown. The result of this is a reduced ability to accept sponsorships in China at the moment. But the opportunities to sponsor children in great need are increasing in India and Indonesia.
All amounts are in Australian dollars. Remember that 82% of your gift goes to the projects. We do not retain high administration amounts.
India
$20 will allow a family to receive 1parcel of food staples for 1 week which many still need following the impact of COVID on family employment and income.
$45 will give a child in India educational programs in 1 of our Child Development Centres five afternoons per week for 1 month.
$415 will train 1 woman in a tailoring school for 6 months in preparation for her to start a home business to care for her family. It also includes a free sewing machine for her upon graduation.
$2800 will pay for a new safe water bore to be installed in a village of 1200 to 2000 people giving them unpolluted safe drinking water. And healthy children means they can attend school and get their education. Gifts of any amount can be given towards our next water bore.
Indonesia
$20 will allow a family to receive 1parcel of food staples for 1 week which many still need following the impact of COVID on family employment and income.
$20 will give a child in Indonesia 1 month of weekly Kids Club activities
$60 will provide a child in a Kids Club with with 3 special events during the year which may include a trip to the zoo or bird sanctuary, a medical checkup or a special event like Christmas or Independence day
$670 will allow us to employ a much needed project staff member like a coordinator or admin person for 1 month
China
$45 will sponsor a child and enable them to remain in school in China when they might otherwise have to leave to help the family or the family simply can’t cover the costs of schooling
Future Pathways China is our program to help young people who have gained access to trade or university education but have no means of attending without financial support. You can give any amount to this program
Project needs don’t always align with the amount you can donate. You may want to help a program like “Safe Water” in India but can’t give the whole amount of a new water bore. Thats completely understandable. Just go to the donation page, select “Make a Donation” from the dropdown box and then “Safe Water India” from the second dropdown. Your donation, whatever amount, is really appreciated and valued.
